Their product involves a comprehensive analysis of fresh produce, offering detailed insights into quality. The Freshfruit.ai application is available on both Android and iOS platforms, utilizing cutting-edge machine learning tools and AI-powered platforms to accurately evaluate the quality of fruits. Through this technology, Freshfruit.ai aims to revolutionize the global fresh produce supply chain by providing robust assessments and enhancing overall quality assurance processes.
Customer Challenge
Freshfruit.ai operates a support website hosted on Zendesk. However, users accessing the support website through their mobile app were encountering issues where the domain support.freshfruit.ai.com was not correctly resolved, leading to broken access paths. The Zendesk platform supported only one type of redirection, which presented a challenge when users tried to access the mobile version of the site. This issue not only impacted user experience but also hindered the ability of customers to create support tickets effectively.
Freshfruit.ai initially considered using third-party tools to solve the domain redirection problem. However, this approach came with high costs and the complexity of managing multiple external platforms alongside Zendesk. The challenge was finding a cost-effective and seamless solution that could resolve the domain redirection issues without introducing unnecessary risks or expenses.
Solution
IAMOPS, an AWS MSP Partner, recommended utilizing Amazon S3’s Static Website Hosting feature for domain redirection. This solution allowed Freshfruit.ai to redirect traffic between domains while staying entirely within the AWS ecosystem. Amazon S3 is highly reliable, offering 99.9% availability, ensuring that downtime was minimized and providing a cost-effective alternative to third-party solutions.
The solution involved creating an S3 bucket with a name matching the domain support.freshfruit.ai.com, and enabling S3’s static website hosting feature to redirect all traffic to the appropriate subdomain where the support site was located. In addition, Amazon Route 53 was used to manage the DNS routing, mapping the domain to the S3 bucket. This ensured smooth and efficient traffic redirection, fully integrated with existing AWS infrastructure.
To ensure secure and optimized delivery, IAMOPS implemented Amazon CloudFront, a content delivery network (CDN) service, to distribute the redirected traffic, improving performance and security by providing SSL/TLS encryption and content caching. CloudFront, combined with Route 53 and S3, allowed Freshfruit.ai to achieve secure, reliable, and scalable domain redirection, without requiring additional tools or costs beyond AWS services.

The domain redirection was successfully implemented within a single day, from April 9 to April 10, 2024. The seamless integration of Amazon S3, Route 53, and CloudFront provided a reliable and efficient solution without any additional costs apart from standard AWS usage fees. This helped Freshfruit.ai avoid the high expenses associated with third-party tools while reducing the complexity of managing multiple platforms.
