About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished and highly skilled Dev Team Lead to join our R&D team building Scaleboard.io — a cutting-edge platform redefining how DevOps operates in the AI era.
As an early technical leader in a fast-moving startup environment, you will help shape core architecture, set engineering standards, and guide a cross-functional team as we build products from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in rapid, sometimes unstructured environments, embraces ambiguity, and can turn vision into high-quality execution.
You will play a central role in designing scalable, high-performance systems, delivering data-intensive applications, integrating advanced AI/ML capabilities, and creating robust developer tooling that powers the Scaleboard platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of developers across backend, frontend, and infrastructure disciplines.
- Architect, design, and maintain high-quality backend services leveraging PostgreSQL, MySQL, Python, and Node.js (TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Oversee the design and implementation of frontend features and internal tools using React.
- Develop and optimize data storage solutions using pgvector or other vector- enabled databases.
- Drive the implementation of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and work with local LLMs to build intelligent, AI-driven platform features.
- Ensure code quality, reliability, and performance through best practices, testing, and thorough code reviews.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and research teams to define requirements and deliver impactful, user-focused features.
- Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies, promote continuous improvement, and ensure consistent delivery.
- Deploy, monitor, and scale services using AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud technologies.
- Research, evaluate, and introduce new tools, frameworks, and technologies that enhance platform stability, scalability, and developer productivity.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Must haves)
- Proven experience leading, managing, or mentoring a software development team. (10+ Years)
- Strong, hands-on expertise with:
- PostgreSQL & MySQL
- Python
- Node.js (TypeScript & JavaScript)
- React
- Deep understanding of cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
- Practical experience with pgvector or other vector databases.
- Demonstrated experience building, tuning, and deploying RAG pipelines.
- Experience developing, fine-tuning, or integrating local LLMs.
- Background in DevOps, CI/CD, or infrastructure automation.
