Use case
Synthetic Monitoring for Proactive Site Reliability
- Sneha Parab
About the Customer
Glomaxia operates a suite of e-commerce and digital service platforms across multiple regions. With a strong focus on delivering a seamless and responsive user experience, their business depends heavily on uptime, performance, and transaction reliability. Their goal is to maintain 24/7 operational availability for all production sites, reduce incident response times, and proactively address failures.
Customer Challenge
Glomaxia faced challenges in ensuring continuous uptime and early detection of issues across eight high-traffic websites. Manual monitoring lacked the speed and coverage needed for real-time incident response. Moreover, test failures often went undetected until reported by users, causing brand reputation risks and business losses. Glomaxia required a fully automated, cloud-native synthetic testing solution to proactively identify downtime or site functionality issues and alert the appropriate teams without delay.
Solution
IAMOPS implemented a robust, AWS-based synthetic monitoring architecture leveraging serverless technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools. The pipeline begins when a developer pushes code to Bitbucket. A Bitbucket pipeline then builds and uploads a Docker image to Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR). AWS Lambda, triggered by EventBridge every 10 minutes, pulls this Docker image and runs synthetic browser-based tests using Playwright (Python).
Login credentials are securely stored and retrieved from AWS Secrets Manager. Test logs and metrics are collected in Amazon CloudWatch and forwarded to New Relic for real-time monitoring and visualization. If a test passes, a heartbeat is sent to Uptime Robot. If it fails, detailed alerts are dispatched to Zenduty and Microsoft Teams, and video logs are stored in an Amazon S3 bucket for investigation.
IAMOPS provided end-to-end support for both pre-deployment setup and post-deployment monitoring, including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD automation, testing logic design, and alert integrations with third-party tools. Security and compliance were ensured via IAM role management and encryption of secrets in AWS Secrets Manager.

Results & Benefits
The synthetic monitoring solution significantly improved the customer’s site observability and incident response. All eight production sites are now automatically tested every 10 minutes. The system detects and alerts issues within seconds, leading to a substantial reduction in the mean time to detection (MTTD). Error logs and test artifacts enable fast troubleshooting, while integration with New Relic offers complete performance visibility. IAMOPS helped the customer achieve a fully automated QA pipeline, which has greatly reduced the need for manual QA efforts.
